You can tell its pretty wet outside when the grey wagtails are checking out the patio of the house!
Amazing Winter alpaca walk
Beautiful Winter weather – cold, crisp, clear blue sky. What better way to shake off the last vestiges of the Christmas turkey than to take our alpacas out for a Winter alpaca walk.
Please take me for a walk as a Christmas present!
Why not book an alpaca walk with Spring Farm Alpacas as a Christmas present? Our walking team is raring to go and the weather isn’t as bad as the forecasters have predicted!
We can offer alpaca walking vouchers if you would rather buy an alpaca walk for loved ones as a gift.
We are open all year subject to availability and whilst here, why mot take a look at all the alpaca products we make and perhaps buy a beautiful 100% alpaca scarf (made by us here on the farm with our own fleece) or other item at amazingly good value prices.
As an alternative, why not book on a fibre workshop and learn some of the skills with fibre, yourself. We host workshops all through the year – please contact us for details.
We look forward to seeing you very soon on an alpaca walk with Spring Farm Alpacas – and we are easily reached from Sussex, Surrey, Kent, Essex, the South East or indeed – London.
Alpaca walking – 8th November 2014
We were lucky enough to host three groups of alpaca walkers on Saturday:
Hannah, Issy and Anne.
Sue and Heather
Greg and Katherine
It had been touch and go with the weather forecast during the week as to whether we would have torrential rain – but on the day, the rain relented and we all managed to enjoy a great walk with 5 of our boys and 2 girls (alpacas that is!). Hope to see you again in the Spring!
Greater Spotted Woodpecker
We are still surrounded by wildlife here at Spring Farm. The picture is of a male greater spotted woodpecker feeding on our peanut feeder. he initially chases off the sparrows and then monopolises the peanut feeder until either frightened off or sated.
We still have flocks of greenfinches and goldfinches feeding on the nyger seed and sunflower hearts – when not feeding in our wildflower meadows on the knapweed!
Butterflies still active in October!
It has been a great year for butterflies here at Spring Farm Alpacas. It is now October and we had our first frost last night but in our woodland, you can still see the occasional speckled wood butterfly. I spotted this one at midday on the 5th October 2014!
Kerrie, Finn & Niamh walking friendly alpacas
We recently went alpaca walking with Kerrie, Finn and Niamh – who took out Nugget, Neptune and Napoleon. This was after a previous trip to our friends West Wight Alpacas on the Isle of Wight. Walking with our super friendly alpacas is great fun and can be enjoyed by anyone over the age of 12! Contact us at Alpaca Walking or Spring Farm Alpacas for more details.
Walking Spring Farm Alpacas with Sammy & Ricky
Sometimes it is the spur of the moment ideas that really inspire us. Ricky and Sammy were staying at the nearby East Sussex National hotel and were off to Gatwick airport in the evening. Fortunately Spring Farm Alpacas is in the middle and we were able to offer a walk with two of our walking alpacas at short notice. Needless to say, walking with our alpacas really makes for a memorable day out!
Alpaca walk with Angela and Elli
We were very fortunate to host an alpaca walk on Tuesday with two lovely ladies – Angela and Elli.
Wonderful birthday alpaca walk!
Millie and I really enjoyed meeting you all here on a birthday alpaca walk at Spring Farm Alpacas. Pam, I will remember you to Catherine when I meet her at the French Alpaca and Llama Show next weekend – assuming I make the right connection in Paris! We look forward to seeing you again next year. Best wishes, Vicki.
